Saddle-Up for the Shriners

May 1st and 2nd
Come join us for some great fun for a great cause. Ride leaves out Saturday morning at 10:00a.m. Cost is $25 and includes primitive camping, general admission for the ride and some good food for dinner Saturday night oh yeah!! last but not least some great music from the Atomic Roots Band Saturday night. All proceeds go to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Full-Hook ups and stall rentals are available on a reservation/first come first serve basis, full hook-up is an additional $25 per night and stall rentals are $10 per night. We look forward to seeing you at our first ride of the season.

Kanawha’s 1st Annual Civil War Re-Enactment

May 14th – 16th
This event will be an interactive educational event that the whole family can enjoy. Civil War era activities for the weekend include a ladies garden party, fashion show, ball and pie social, children's activities, band concerts, church service, first person impressions, demonstrations, workshops, sutlers vending period goods and garments. Confederate and civilian camps, competitive military drills, and, of course, the popular battle re-enactments, with infantry, cavalry, artillery and medical units See the schedule of activities for a complete guide to the weekend activities.
IBRA Barrel Race and Pole Bending

May 22nd – 23rd
Four hooves, two hearts in a race against time. Come watch some of the best all around horse/rider combinations race the clock in two of the most popular equine speed events known. The International Barrel Racing Association will hold a double points two day event that is sure to enthuse any equine lover. Concessions available, general admission $5 kids 10 and under free.
Spring Wagon-Train Ride

May 28th – 31st
Well Round them up and head on out for our spring week-end wagon train ride. Rides leave out from the Arena every day at 10:00 a.m. and we end back up at camp for some great home cooked food, and some good old fashioned bluegrass entertainment in the newly constructed “Carriage House Saloon” week-end admission is $15. Don’t want to ride don’t worry you can still come join the fun for only a $5 cover pp/per night for the entertainment.

Virginia High School Rodeo State Finals

June 4th – 6th
We fill very honored and excited to be hosting this year’s state finals event.
This High School Rodeo event you will not want to miss. This event will exhibit the elite High School Rodeo competitors as they will be sure to keep you on the edges of your seat. Come see our future rodeo rising stars. The Virginia High School Rodeo is a full Rodeo Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Calf Roping, Bronco and Bull riding, goat tying and much more this is the real deal. Competitors range from 1st year rodeo experience to kids with 10 years or greater rodeo experience. These kids put their heart and soul into the rodeo sport and we are fortunate to have an event that exhibits their talents here at Kanawha Valley Arena. This is always a great show, a must see so mark your calendars you can’t
miss it. Concessions available, general admission is $5 pp/per day kids 10 and under free.
Smokin up Kanawha

June 11th and 12th
Each of our truck pulling events will exhibition some super modified Trucks, Tractors or Semi’s you sure won’t want to miss any of our events.
It’s a Truck Pull!!!! “Diesels Unlimited” and Kanawha Valley Arena proudly presents “Smokin up Kanawha” Come witness some of the toughest diesel trucks battle to claim there title as the best pullin truck around. This is a two day pull come test your truck Friday night and see some modified trucks exhibition. Then Saturday we ain’t holdin’ nothin’ back come see who will claim the fame. Classes will be available for non-modified and modified diesel and gas trucks and will be separated into weight classes. Come see what your truck can do. Hook fees will be collected for each pull and then paid back out entirely as prize money. The Carriage House Saloon will be open both night’s. Concession available, want stay the whole week-end we got you covered primitive and full hook up camping available. General admission to the public $7 kids 7 and under is free.
Kids Fishing Day!

June 12th
Bring all the kids 16 and under and fish for free Kanawha Valley Arena and the local chapter of the National Turkey Federation Organization (The Jakes) stock the stream at Kanawha Valley Arena with rainbow trout. Game Warden’s are on site for monitoring and education no license required come catch your limit and have some good family fun. This is a great first time fishing experience. We apologize guys this event is just for the kids no fishing allowed for the adults. First line cast at noon. Concessions on site come early and pick your spot. Fishing equipment not provided please bring your own.

Wagon Train

July 3rd - July 11th
Looking for a relaxing, but yet fun-filled summer vacation with your horses? Well round them up and head on out for our week long wagon train ride. Rides leave out from the Arena every day at 10:00 a.m. and we end back up at camp for some great home cooked food, and some good old fashioned bluegrass nightly entertainment in the newly constructed “Carriage House Saloon” Week admission $30 includes riders week long admission, primitive camping and nightly entertainment. Full hook-ups and stall rentals are available on a first come first serve basis for and additional fee of $10 each per night. Don’t want to ride don’t worry you can still come join the fun there is plenty to keep you busy in and around the Arena fish in our trout stream or enjoy the large pond maybe venture out each day to find the many other attractions in our area. General admission available $5 pp/per night come here some of the greatest old time and blue grass music this area has to offer.

Hospice Bereavement Camp

July 23rd
Kanawha Valley and local Hospice will host the 3rd annual bereavement camp for children under 18 years of age who have lost and immediate family member. There will be activities through-out the day planned for the children to enjoy. Horseback riding, wagon rides, mechanical bull rides, homemade ice cream, roping and much more we look forward to hosting the event this year. SRA Rodeo and Bull Ride

August 7th
This is sure to be a fun packed day there will be two shows one starting at 1:00p.m. and then again at 7:00p.m. The Southeastern Rodeo Association is a full rodeo and exhibits all rodeo events from barrels to roping to pinning to bulls it has it all. There are Jr. and Sr. events this is one of the best all around rodeo groups you will find. There sure to put on one heck of a show so come stay the day and enjoy all that rodeo has to offer. $7 admission kids 7 and under are free
TWHBEA and American Saddlebred Horse Show

August 14th
“Rack On” We look forward to hosting our first gaited horse show here at the arena. This will be a point show for the exhibitors so you are sure to see some of the best gaited horses in our area as they keep stacking those points up to see who will be going to the end of season championships. There will be youth and open classes as well so please feel free to contact us if you are interested in participating. Classes and entry fees will be posted with a link soon. General Admission $3.00 children 7 and under are free.
Virginia High School Rodeo

August 20th – 21st
Come see our future rodeo rising stars.
